ICAD day one

I am attempting the index card a day challenge. I created my first one today.

I drew chevrons across two sides of my index card. I then filled in part of them with green and yellow nail polish. I used markers to further outline part of the chevrons write part of my statement. I did the border with black fingernail polish

New Supplies, completed challenge, marriage

I completed my challenge for Art Journal Journey. I am still trying to figure out a few things regarding how to get my photos posted to this site. For now I am still scanning my sork and posting it.

I got some new things I ordered earlier this week yesterday and was very happy with them. I ordered a Tim Holtz distress ink stamp pad (Victorian Velvet). I just got the one so I can see how they work. I also got a 3-pack of the Sakura white GellyRoll pens, some washi tape masking stickers, and some black Artist's tiles to use with my Zentangle. I used one for this week's Diva Challenge. You can view it here White on Black .

My daughter got married yesterday. It was very nice and a little bit emotional (yes, I cried). I gave her and her husband a pocket letter. I need to complete it with some wedding photos and also scan it (I forgot to do that). Once I have it completed I will post it (probably on instagram).

I colored in my mandala this week. Now I need to add some extra stuff to it.

I finished two pocket letters today. I am not very fast with doing the letters, but I am getting better.

I am in a pocket letter trade on Ustream. I have been working on various things the last few weeks to include in my letter.

I was watching Coffee and Art in the Morning on Ustream the other day (love this show) and the lady was talking about varnishing her acrylic work.

Promise

I finished my art journal challenge yesterday. I found a really neat photo of the Statue of Liberty taken from the torch. I used acrylic paint, photo images, Sakura Gellyroll pen, Pentel RSVP pen, music stamp. I used 9x12 XL Canson Mix Media paper. I included the quote: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses/ Yearning to breathe free."

I received my pocket letter from my swap partner today. All I can say is gorgeous.

Yesterday I made some small journals while watching my nephews. I plan to use these to see how different supplies and techniques work.

I have been playing around with some mixed media techniques and making different stuff. I created this tag and finished it this morning.

I purchased some stencils, a crop-a-dile power punch and some chalk pastels.

New blog update

Hello, I am still working on getting this blog likeable and user friendly for me and all of you. I have added some sites I like to visit that either give me visual delight, inspiration or both.

Second Blog

I am starting a second blog for more of my art/mixed media/journal type stuff. I don't know how long this blog will be in existence or how well I will be at keeping it updated. This is just an experiment.

I went to my local Blick store today and purchased a few new things. I bought a 9x12 Canson XL Mix Media book and got a 5.5x8.5 book for free. I also purchased 2 new Derwent Inktense pencils (Dark Aquamarine, Dark Chocolate), 2 Prismacolor/premiere pencils (Burnt Ochre, Sienna Brown), a Micron 01 pink pen, some cheapy brushes, some Tombow Mono liquid glue, and some Utrecht white gesso.
